Storm Ellen: With gales of winds from last Tuesday night there was structural damage done to the roof of the club house. We would like to thank Collie Flynn for mending the roof in such quick-fire fashion. Also Dinny Martin who cut up the trees and to Tom, Gerry, Shane and Ben who disposed of the debris.

Deise Draw: I would like to thank all those who subscribed to this year’s Deise Draw. The first draw is on this Wednesday. It can be viewed on Facebook.

Championship Matters: While our involvement in the hurling championships ended with our Junior hurling team last week, one could not but be pleased with the structural format. The GAA at present are setting in motions the design of the coming years for both inter county and club fixtures. The club player has been crying out for this for years and it will be of great benefit to everyone if the masterplan comes to fruition.  Ideally one would like to play a championship match every two weeks for recovery but if the dates are set and adhered to without crossover it could only benefit everyone involved and possibly stop the cause of burn out and drop out of players.

U14 County Hurling Final: As I write we have not got clarification on the time and venue of the county final against De La Salle next Sunday. The guidelines have it that one guardian is allowed accompany his/her child to the game. We wish the boys the best of luck.

The Railing: Three games on in Pairc Eamonn De Poar ths week with Cois Bhride's U8's playing a biltz at 6.30 on Wednesday. On Friday, the U12 footballers play Balinacourty at 6.30 On Friday. The girls have their final group game against Portlaw at 6.30pm on Saturday. All matches might be viewed from the car park ...

Painting: Weather halted us last Saturday and we hope for improvement on next Saturday. All help appreciated.
