Brideview Utd AFC Schoolboy Notes

East Cork Oil Aglish Branch Premier League

Defeat for Utd in Ardmore

We had two teams in action in the League on Saturday last and both went ahead despite the terrible weather. One game our U16 was transferred from Leonard Fraser Park to Ardmore. At the end of the day the games were played which was the main thing. Our U18 Academy played in Ballyduff.

Thanks

Thanks to the people who drove to Ardmore at such short notice. We even sent some parents home. Anyway thanks to everyone.

Nissan Motors Fermoy U12 Premier League

Brideview Utd 0 Inch 4

Inch proved too strong for our boys on Saturday morning last. On a cold and wet morning both teams played some good football. Inch led 2-0 at the break and added two more in the second half to run out winners.

Utd's panel all played: D O Brien, M. Murphy, L. Madej, G. Almeida, R. Whelan (Capt), L. Guildea, T. McCormack, S. Mangan, A. Pratt, G. Murphy, B. Sheehan.

East Cork Oil Aglish Branch U16 Premier League

Ardmore 2 Brideview Utd 1

What a turnaround we had here in Ardmore on Saturday afternoon last. Utd were well on top in the opening half but went in leading 1-0 at the break. This goal came from Billy Marsh.

The Ardmore keeper brought off some great saves here in the opening half from Shane Cronin twice and he also denied Marsh with two fine saves.

Shane Martin did bring off one great  save in this first half from Lennane.

Ardmore changed their side around for the second half and Utd had to do some solid defending, Ardmore's equaliser was a rather soft one but Martin could do nothing about it.

It looked as if both teams were going to settle for a draw but with just 5 minutes remaining Ardmore's striker struck a terrific shot into the top corner.

Time ran out for Utd and Ardmore secured all three points.

Utd all used: S. Martin, W.O Driscoll, G McDonnell, D. Spillane, A. Spillane, A. Hurley, A. O Dowd, C. McCarthy, A. Bennett, B. Marsh, G. Good, S. Cronin, C. Lenehan.

Thanks Lads

To the Ardmore boys for erecting a stand for the away side. It left the rain and wind at bay . Even Niamh thought it was good.

U8 Academy:

Our U 8 Academy travelled to our neighbours on Saturday morning and played their game indoors because of the weather. Scorers here for our team were Jake Keniry(1) Isaac Doyle(2) Adam Feeney (2)

Team: Adam Feeney, Sean & Cathal Hogan, Jake Keniry, Isaac Doyle.

Best Wishes

To all of our players who are down sick with the flu at the moment.
