Brideview Utd AFC Schoolboy/Schoolgirl notes 19/12/17

Points shared in Tallow
Our U12 side shared points in Tallow on Saturday morning while our U14 sidewent down in Conna. So overall it was a Saturday of mixed results. However it is not all about winning it's about kids getting games and enjoying themselves.

Results:
Round Tower Hotel Ardmore U12

Brideview Utd 1 Inch 1
The points were shared in Tallow on Saturday morning last where we had East Cork side Inch as visitors. It was a tight game with defences on top. However both teams did create chances but the keepers of both teams were in top form. Stephen Murphy was Utd's scorer here. Utd had a big panel and all got a game.

Utd: A. Good, T.Twohig, J. Gaiasbo, B.Murphy, A.Murphy, J.Henley, J.Mc Donnell, B.Miguel, C.Henley, H.H. Lee, D.Power, G. Hynes, S.Murphy, B.Grey.

Dungarvan Shopping Centre U14 Premier League

Valley Rangers 8 Brideview Utd 3
Rangers from Conna were giving away no Christmas presents on Saturday last and had a convincing win against Utd. Jake O'Brien scored twice and Darragh Spillane scored one but these goals never looked like upsetting Rangers. This win keeps Rangers at the top of the league table.

Utd's Squad all played; S.Martin, A.Hurley, C. Lenihan, I. Martin, D.Spillane, S.Roche, A.O'Dowd, J.McDonnell, C.Marsh, C.Mc Carthy, J.O'Brien.

Change in matches over Holidays
There will be some changes to games over the Christmas period. Hopefully these games will be announced before Monday so all players will be notified by text, facebook and the local papers. See end of notes. The good news is no games for this coming weekend except one U17 game.

ORourke Family U17 League

Big game in Tallow
While its a busy time of year with Christmas Shopping on top of the list I would ask as many of our fans a possible to turn up in Leonard Fraser Park on this Saturday at 2pm when our U17 team have a local derby game against Lismore. A win here for United would clinch the league little for us but it will not be an easy game. Utd. beat neighbours Valley Rangers in their last league game while Lismore drew with their neighbours Cappoquin, in a thrilling game. We will hope our strikers of Mark Dalton and EoinMcGrath will be in top form Saturday next.
It's all to play for here and Utd. will look to wrap up the league before the Christmas break. A defeat would still see Utd.  stay on top but it would bring Lismore and Cappoquin right back into it and could see the league title go right down to the wire. We appeal to our supporters to turn out and shout on the boys on Saturday.

Happy Christmas and a Propserous New Year
From all in Brideview we wish all our players, their families, supporters, friends, sponsors and referees a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Not forgetting our friends in the papers for their help and friendly faces during the past year. Enjoy the Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
