DB Sports Cup

United into Semi Final

We had two teams in action last week. Our U12 team advanced to the Cup semi final and our U11 Academy team were also in action.

A great game of football here between these two local teams. Utd took the lead early in the first half when Danny Power scored a great goal. Joseph McDonnell added goal number two when he chipped the keeper . Utd led 2-0 at the break.

The second half saw both sides create some chances but we saw no more goals. So Utd advance to the Cup semi final. Well done lads.

Utd all played: Shay Pratt, Jack Henley, Paul Henley, Joseph McDonnell, Danny Power, Sean Murphy, Dean Cronin, Aidan Murphy, Gearoid Hynes, Billy Murphy, Daniel Henley, Alex Good, Darragh O'Brien, Ben Sheehan, Isaac Almeida.

U11 Academy

Our U11 Academy team played Ardmore in Leonard Fraser Park on Thursday night last. A great game between two sides that played plenty of good football.

Utd's scorers here were: Ben Sheehan (2), Tadgh McCormack (1) Adam Pratt (1) Isaac Almeida (1) Michael Murphy (1)

Utd's players all took part:Darragh O Brien, Sean Mangan, Daniel Henley, Isaac Almeida, Ben Sheehan, Michael Murphy, Adam Pratt, Tadgh McCormack, Lukasz Modei, Jordan Murphy.

Sympathy

The Club extends it's deepest sympathy to the Ryan Family Mount Fair on the sad passing of Teresa. May she rest in peace.

Sympathy also to the Tracy Family on the sad passing of Maggie. May she rest in peace.

Thanks boys and girls

Yes a big thank you to all the boys and girls who turned up for their march on to the field with both Junior teams before the Cup Final. The kids were treated to some goodies which they really enjoyed. They then played a game during the half time break. 

So thanks to the parents, coaches and the boys and girls for adding to the final.

Well Done lads

After a terrific first half the game died a bit in the second half with both keepers seldom being tested. Extra time failed to see a winner. So it went down to a penalty shootout which the A team won. However we congratulate both teams for making it a great evening and doing both themselves and the Club proud.

Centra who are terrific sponsors of the Junior club left no stone unturned as both dressing rooms were well stocked up with water, Lucozade, fruit and Jaffa cakes which was much appreciated by both teams.
