Brideview Utd AFC Schoolboy Notes

Mixed results for United

Our U 13's and U 15's were in action Saturday last. Our U13's had a victory while our U15's went down in their local derby versus neighbours Lismore.

Our U11 Academy travelled to Bridesbridge to take on local side Castlebridge Celtic. All the boys got a game and that is the main objective of the Academy games. Santa was delighted with his visit to Tallow. See notes.

Defeat for United

Cappoquin-Railway 6 Brideview Utd 1

A heavy defeat here for our lads. We came up against a big tall strong homeside. Again the first half was close enough and we went 2-0 down. Both Stephen and Billy Murphy had good chances in this opening half.

The home team added four second half goals with Utd getting their only goal in final few minutes. Stephen Murphy did chip the keeper in the final few minutes but it was a case of too little too late.

Utd: A.Good, B.Murphy, T.Twohig, A. Murphy, G. Hynes, S.Pratt. J.Henley, S.Murphy, T. Barry, J. McDonnell, B. Grey, D. Cronin, C. Henley, S.U. Ahern

Academy U11

Utd's Squad all played:Josh Mangan, Brian Murphy, Oscar Morrison, Ryan Whelan, Lee Guildea, James McDonnell, Dylan Kerrigan, Paul Hegarty, Harry Power.

Note: This was Harry Powers first game with our U11 academy.  Josh Mangan was terrific in goal with James McDonnell also playing well.  Our other players of Guildea, Whelan, Morrison, Kerrigan, Murphy and Hegarty all did well here. Well done boys.

Santa Back to the North Pole
A big crowd turned up for Santa's visit to Tallow on Friday night last.   Sue had Santa's Grotto in excellent condition and Santa was very helpful to all the boys and girls.  THanks to everyone who gave a hand during the night.

On The Mend

Glad to report that Michael Delandy is on the mend after his accident.  Michael is already looking forward to Christmas. Of course Man Utd's good run is helping him no doubt.  Best wishes from Santa and all in Brideview Utd.
