Cappoquin FC 2 Brideview Utd 2
Brideview game against Cappoquin last Sunday morning ended in stalemate as both sides cancelled each other out.  It was Brideview who opened the scoring when Chris Murphys shot was parried by the keeper into the path of David McInerney and he pounced to prod the ball home.  Cappoquin came more into the game without troubling Ritchie Murphy and United doubled ther lead on the thalf hour from the penalty spot.  The penalty kick came from a darting run from the ever lively Mcinerney and when he crsossed new signing Jason O'Keeffe was felled in the box just as he was about to pull the trigger.  Michael Curley converted the penalty with United looking comfortable approaching half time.  But Cappoquin had other ideas and scored on 40mins and could have equalised just before the break only for the last gasp tackle from Aaron Pratt to deny them.
The score remained the same throughout a rain sodden second half up until the 80min when the Cappoquin substituet equalised to leave the final score at 2-2.  United now have to get points from the remaining two fixtures to enter the knock out stages of this tournament.

Good Results for United

Our U-11's and U-12's were in action last week and both recorded wins which kept the managers happy.
U-12 League
Brideview Utd. 1 Kilworth 0

This proved to be a very tense and exciting game on Saturday morning last.  Both sides had their chances in the first half but both keepers were in top form.
Midway in the second half Calum McCarthy was brought down in the box and up stepped Darragh Spillane and shot home giving the Kilworth keeper no chance.  The only goal of the game and three very good points for United.

U-11 League
Brideview Utd 9 Clashmore Ramblers 0

Utd's squad proved too strong here for Ramblers B side.  To be fair to Ramblers their young players played football throughout the game and never gave up.
Utd. will not doube come up against a different Ramblers A side when they play them.  First half goals from Calum McCarthy, Ciarn Linihan, Josh Good and Jack McDonnell saw Utd go in at the break
leading 4-0.
The second half was only 3 minutes old when Kian (right Kian ha ha) McGrath stuck for Utd's fifth. Further goals from Jack McDonnell, Calum McCarthy and two from that young Ciaran Lenihan saw our lads run out winners.

Hat Trick

Ciaran Lenihan got a hat trick while Calum McCarthy and Jack McDonnell both got two apiece with Kian McGrath and Josh Good also finding the net.
We had good displays also from keeper Alex Good, Jake Henley, Ian Martin and Christopher Bowes.  Not forgetting Cian O'Brien and Alan Hurley who were excellent on the night.
Utd's Squad - A. Good, I. Martin, C. O'Brien, C. Lenihan, J. McDonness, K. McGrath, C. McCarthy, A. Hurley, C. Bowes, J. Good, J. Henley

Sympathy
The Club extends its deepest sympathy to the Callanan family of Willow Brook on the sad passing of Alphy. May he rest in peace

Best Wishes
To David Keniry who gets married on Saturday.  We hope Timmy and James will look well on the day. Right lads!!
