Senior Hurling
Tallow 0-15 Fourmilewater 1-13
Management and players will be extremely frustrated to lose a game which they could have won, playing so poorly.  Tallow never got out of first gear and one may be forgiven for saying they were all aware that this level of performance cannot be repeated as we are now entering the business end of the championship.  as other results have shown, this year's championship is quite open and up for grabs for a number of clubs, including ourselves.  on a more positive note, our levell of performance usp to htis blip has been impressive and we need to return to this for the game in two weeks time.  our aim ofr hte next day will be to improve the speed of our huroiong, up the work rate 10 fold and reduce the amoutn of simple errors made.  the game itself, what can i say?  well 2 points from play speaks volumee  and depicts just how lacklustre the preformanc was.  We should have taken advantage of the FMW red card in teh second half but didn't and ended up losing the game 1-13 to 0.15. Onwards and upwards from her when we play Ballygunner on September 12th in Bushy Park

Junior Hurling Championship
Tallow 1-12 Colligan Emmets 0-21

This was competitive tough championship hurling, at times fast and furious.  It was a good standard of hurling with some outstanding individual performances.  In the end Colligan just had a bit more in the tank to finish strongly and deservedly close out this junior hurling quarter final played under lights at Fraher Field on Friday night.
It began at pace with no quarter ceded either way.  Points were exchanged almost on rotation and after 10 minutes the teams were locked at four points each with three of Tallow's scores coming from the unerring Mikey Curley and the fourth from Kevin Henley.  Colligna were getting into their stride however and picked off 8 points over the remainder of the half.  Tallow, who were considered complete outsiders for this encounter, showed character and determination to stay in touch with the forementioned Mikey registering 3 further points (1,65) A Joey Poer goal just before the break left the game finely balanced (Tallow 1-7 - Colligan 0-12)Tallow powered into the game in the second half and were level within 0 minutes.  Our backs were holding the line and Jack Tobin made some vital clearances.  The impressive Stefan Tobin was causing all sorts of problems for Emmets as Tallow went three ahead.  With just 10 minutes (+4 added on) remaining Colligan had yet to register a score but withn minutes the game turned.  With 56 minutes showing on the clock they had levelled the game.  Injuries to centre back Kieran Frazer, talanted wing back Jake Neville and Dylan Mangan didn't help our cause but you could only admire the manner in which Colligan clinically closed out the game to record a comfortable win with 6 unanswered points.  There fitness level was definitely a contributing factor.  Tallow's heroic efforts over the first fifty minutes were stamina sapping which took its toll in the closing stages .  They played some quality hurling and battled for ever ball.  Our lads can be proud of their display.  Our congratulations to Colligan and we wish them well.

We have a reliatively young squad with plenty of potential and hurling craft.  They hurled well over the season and had a good campaign.  They represented the club proudly and our sincere thanks also to the team management and good blend of youth and expereince.  We couldn't do without our medical officer on the line also.  So thanks to all.

If this game was anything to go by then the new championship format based on the meritocracy, introduced this year is worth persisiting with.

Parking
A number of spaces in the club car park are designated disabled parking areas.  We would ask all who use the car park to respect this.

Note to all managers/selectors of adult and juvenile clubs

Please ensure you lock up and turn off lights in the field/clubhouse as they have been left on on several occasions and the bills are extremely high!!!
