Aherne Hits Five
It's a long time since a United Player hit five goals in a game but Ben Aherne did on Saturday last but Eoin McGrath did give him a hand.
However our U9 team did grab plenty of goals in their games on Satuday morning last.  Our U11 team bowed out of the cup when they went down to a strong Kilworth side.

Aherne lifts United
Blackwater United 9 Cahir Park B 2
A big win here for United in Tallow on Saturday Morning, thanks in no small way to scorer in chief Ben Aherne.  Aherne was in top form here scoring five goals.  United let 3-1 at the break with Aherne, Long and Crawford all finding the net before Cahir pulled on back before the break.
The Second half began in a highly entertaining way.  Cahir struck in the first minute of the second half to leave the score 3-2 to Utd.  Crawford put Aherne in for his second a minute later.  Two minutes later McGrath set up Aherne to leave Utd. leading 5-2.

In teh 50th minute McGrath set up Aherne for his fourth and Utds sixth.  Long struck for his second in the 53rd minute and Mark Stewart added a goal in the 55th minute.  It was all Utd now and yes that man again Aherne rounded off the scoring in the 65th minute for a big win for Blackwater.

Utd. bowed our of the cup when they came up against a very strong Kilworth side on Saturday night.
The  lads did their best here on the day but they came up against a Kilworth side who could do no wrong on the day.  it has to be siad that Celtics opening three goasl came from mistakes by some of Utds players.  This happens from time to time but i'm sure the lads will pick themselves up for the remaining league games.
Stephen Murphy scored for our lads  here and indeed with a bit of luck he could have got one or two more.  Man of the  match went to Ian "smiler" Martin.
Utd: A Good, I "smiler" Martin, Ciaran "Choc" Linehan, C. O'Brien, C. McCarthy, W. Keneally, S. Murphy, J. Gtood, C. McGrath, A. Hurley, J. McDonnell, C Bowes.
Our U9 Team took on Clashmore Greens, Clashmore Whties and Valley Rangers in our al weather pitch on Saturday morning.  There was no shortage of goals in these games so I hope i will get all the goalsscorers, here goes, Ben Sheehan(3) Brian Miguel (5) Alex Good (2) Tadhg McCormac (1) Keith Martin(1).
Utd's Squad: Alex Good, Niamh Spillane, Keith Martin, Brian Miguel, Tadhg McCormac, Ben Sheehan, Lucy Donnelly.

The Mothers
Yes the mothers were terrific on Saturday morning making the tea and coffee for the managers.  I will say no more here but Collette and Veronica sat down all day Ha Ha Ha.

The Fathers
The fathers was beaten by the son in the cycle race through Tallow on Friday evening last with the son calling for the father to hurry up.  They looked lovely in the black and amber colours.  Right B & B.

Worried
Some of the lads are getting a bit worried with some of the wedding invitations that are going around at the moment.  However we know it's not true right lads Ha! Ha! Ha!

Birthday Greetings
To Bernie Kearney and Paulie Hearty who celebrated their birthdays at the weekend.

Best Wishes
To one of our star players John Paul Grey who is out of action at the moment.  It's true to say that John Paul is being missed from our first team at the moment.  It's true also that John Paul may have to hang up his boots but what service he has given to the club.  Anyway we will come back to J.P. later.
Also out is Aaron Scoles Pratt who picked up an injury while training with the second team on Sunday.  We all wish Scoles a speedy recoery and of course J.P
