A real thriller in Tallow on Saturday morning last with the visitors running out winners and in doing so won the league.
A penalty to the visitors in the second minute of the game saw the visitors go ahead.  Utd's keeper Wright brought off a great save in the 12th minute to deny Rovers.
We were back on level terms in the 15th minute when a Liam Motherway corner went all the way to the net.  Ben Aherne put Mark Steward through in the 21st minute but his shot just went over.  The visitors were back in front in the 24th minute when a corner kick ended up with one of Uniteds defenders putting the ball into his own net. At the break Rovers led 2-1

THe second hald saw Utd get on top, McGrath, Aherne, Crawford, and Chambers all got close to putting Utd back on level terms.  The equaliser did come in the 60th minute again an O.G. from one of Rovers defenders.
Both sides upped their efforts and with a draw looking a likely resutl the visitors struck with just eight minutes to go and held out for a victory.
We congratulate ROvers on winning the league which they deserved.  Our own lads did well in this campaign and now face Cashel in teh cup quarter final.
