Round Tower Hotel Ardmore U11 League Semi Final

Brideview Utd 2 Ardmore 2 (after extra time)
Many Heros in Uniteds Victory
Penalties 2 -1

Another cracker of a game here following on from Tuesday nights game.  Not an easy game for managers here as all the boys want to play for all the game and a penalty shootout also brings tears as well as goals.
Th first half was keenly fought with McDonnell, McCarthy and Murphy all being denied by Ardmores keeper.  At the break the sides were still scoreless. The second half was only on for 5 minutes when Jake Henley rattled the Ardmore net to put Utd in front, Alex Good denied Ardmore in the 37th minute but there was nothing he could do after 39 mins when Ardmore struck a marvellous equalizer.

Twice in as many minutes the crossbar came to Utd's rescue.  At the other end Callum (got his name right)!! had a marvellous shot well saved by the visiting keeper and soon after the final whistle blew.

Extra Time
The parents and managers were treated to another 20 minutes of goalmouth action, great saves and two goals during this extra time.  Utd took the lead again 5 minutes into extra time when a Lenehan cross found Murphy at the back post and the latter crashed the ball home.  Just before the break Ardmore once again equalized and both sides went in locked together at 2-2.

The second half saw both sides go close when Lenehan, and Good all beign denied by the keeper, it failed to produce another goal and so to the penalty shootout.

Utd. won this 2-1 and so advance to the league final, can i just add here that the boys and girls of both sides did their clubs proud and it is a pity that one side had to loose out.  Utd will now look forward to the final.
