Built between 1860 and 1880 Clancy’s Bar & Guesthouse is a noted coachhouse and Bianconi coachstop (see Buildings of Notable Interest) centrally located in the heart of Tallow town on the main Youghal to Waterford/Fermoy Road (N72). The ownership of this traditional pub and guesthouse spans five generations of the Clancy family and is currently run by James Clancy. Priding itself on its warm welcome and hearty variety of breakfasts (cooked individually to your liking) staying at the guesthouse is like a comfortable step back in time but with all the conveniences of today, a true Irish experience! There is ample car parking available and the guesthouse has a walled garden where you can relax and unwind.

Clancy’s gives easy access to all the major driving routes, is ideally situated for anglers with trout fishing on the River Bride only 1km away and Salmon fishing on the Blackwater River only 8km away.

For golfers, Lismore Golf Links is just a 12 minute car drive and there is a further selection of courses between 22 km and 35 km away. The amazing Youghal Beach is only 25 minutes by car and Redbarn’s expansive Blue Flag beach is only 33 minutes. The Clancy family are a great source of local information and will gladly assist you with paces to visit, routes to take, restaurants to eat in and entertainment to enjoy.
